Temple Terrace changes River Board member

James ChambersJuly 2020 – For four years Councilmember Andy Ross has been the face of Temple Terrace for the Hillsborough River Interlocal Planning Board. Councilmember Ross diligently served the residents of Temple Terrace on the River Board and always sought out the best outcomes for the health of the River and its recreational use by residents. While the River Board is sad to lose Councilmember Ross, we are also happy for him and the residents of Temple Terrace as he now embarks on his new responsibilities as Acting Temple Terrace Mayor. We wish Acting Mayor Ross well in all his future endeavors. He will be recognized for his service at the July 27 River Board Meeting.

At the same time, we are very excited to welcome incoming Temple Terrace councilman and new River Board member James Chambers. Councilmember Chambers has a long history of work and council representation at Temple Terrace which includes a number of projects associated with the Hillsborough River. James Chambers was elected to the Temple Terrace City Council on November 6, 2018.  Mr. Chambers retired from the City of Temple Terrace after 43 years of service in the Leisure Services Department, with the last 16 years as Department Director. During that time he won Employee of the Year and the Fran Barford Public Service awards. He is active in the community and currently serves on the Woodmont Clubhouse Board, is President of the Temple Terrace Arts Council, and Vice President and Safety Officer of the Tampa Radio Controlled Aircraft Association. We look forward to continuing the important work in managing and protecting the health of the Hillsborough River with Councilmember Chambers.
