The TPO’s CAC provides information and expresses overall community values and needs in the transportation planning process.  It evaluates and proposes solutions from a citizen’s perspective, and furnishes knowledge gained through the CAC back to local groups.

The CAC consists of citizen volunteers.  They represent a broad spectrum of social and economic backgrounds.  Members are appointed by each of the TPO Board members, and one citizen represents the Transportation Disadvantaged Coordinating Board.  Many of the members are active in homeowners, business, or other civic associations.  Members are appointed to a two-year term. In addition, there are 6 at-large seats comprising:

  • A person of Hispanic ethnicity
  • A person of African-American descent
  • A person under the age of 30
  • A woman
  • A person to represent neighborhoods
  • A person to represent the business community

We encourage any citizen who lives in Hillsborough County interested in serving on the committee to submit an application by clicking “join the CAC” above.

The CAC normally meets on the second or third Wednesday of the month at 9 a.m.  All meetings are open to the public and we encourage the public to address the CAC under the public comments section of the agenda.
