The Planning Commission is proud to announce our 41st annual celebration of excellence in planning in Hillsborough County. This awards program is a well-respected tradition honoring projects contributing to a better quality of life in our community and serving as models to learn from and emulate. With the emphasis on the importance of great planning in our own region, our awards program is held in October to align with the many national festivities held during the American Planning Association’s (APA) National Community Planning Month and celebration of Great Places in America!

Our 41st Annual Planning & Design Awards presented by TECO will be hosted by Brendan McLaughlin on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 5:15 pm – 8:15 pm at the Shanna & Bryan Glazer Jewish Community Center. Tickets will go on sale in September. Become a sponsor.

How to Enter

All entries become the property of the Planning Commission. Photos and drawings submitted may be used by the Planning Commission in materials including websites, social media, publications, presentations, and educational programs, etc.

Read the criteria and follow the submission instructions in the 41st Annual Planning & Design Awards Entry Form.

Mail your entry fee to the Planning Commission.

Deadlines & Entry Fees

Entry fees may be waived for student-designed projects or for projects designed and executed entirely with volunteer resources. Call 813.547.3342 to find out if your project qualifies for a waived fee.
