Former Commissioners Mitch Thrower and Theodore Trent Green

Planning Commission welcomes new Commissioners and thanks outgoing Commissioners

Meeting of the Hillsborough County City-County Planning CommissionMarch 2021 – At the March 8, 2021 meeting of the Planning Commission, we welcomed new Planning Commissioner Vivienne Handy as she took her oath of office. Commissioner Handy is a certified Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) possessing over 30 years of experience in natural resource management and environmental permitting. She is also a member of the Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC).

Nigel Joseph, Planning Commission Chair, also presented a plaque of appreciation to former Commissioners Thrower and Green. Both Mitch Thrower and Theodore Trent Green served nine years on the Planning Commission, with Thrower serving from 2011 – 2020 and Green as the City of Temple Terrace appointee from 2012 – 2021. We bid a fond farewell and sincere thank you to Mitch Thrower and Theodore Trent Green for their many years of service on the Hillsborough County City-County Planning Commission and their vision, leadership, and commitment to improving the quality of life in our community.
