Plan Hillsborough welcomes new USF Fellows

Lizzie Ehrreich and Bob BernhartSeptember 2021 – Plan Hillsborough continues to support the University of South Florida’s (USF) Masters in Urban & Regional Planning (MURP) program through two fellowships each year. By familiarizing emerging planners with community priorities, these talented students contribute their knowledge and skills to our work. This year, we look forward to working with Lizzie Ehrreich, MA and Bob Bernhart. Here’s are a few words from these new additions to our team:

Lizzie Ehrreich, MA: “I am thrilled to work as a Fellow for the Hillsborough County Transportation Planning Organization! Planning is such a comprehensive field because it encompasses and influences major aspects of our lives, so I am grateful for and humbled by the opportunity to work with the community to shape the future of our County. I look forward to contributing to a variety of transportation planning projects while learning from the knowledgeable staff at Plan Hillsborough. When I am not working or studying, I like to be outside in the sunshine paddling, biking, rollerblading, or relaxing in a hammock while watching the birds!”

Bob Bernhart: “I am excited to be working with the Plan Hillsborough staff as I transition from the translation industry to planning, and I look forward to supporting their efforts to provide access, opportunity, and resources to the citizens of Hillsborough County. I hope to gain a deeper understanding of the political and procedural mechanisms that guide the development of our region, and I am already being exposed to the many distinct elements that come together to form the official vision for the county’s future. I am also looking forward to getting to know the staff and their roles within the organization and community better. In my free time, I love cooking, biking, walking my dogs, exploring new cities, listening to podcasts, road trips, and playing music.”

Lizzie will be working on the Transportation Planning Organization’s resiliency, sustainability, and environmental projects while Bob will be working on strategic planning and policy development for the Planning Commission’s Strategic Planning Environmental and Research (SPEAR) Division.

Welcome to Plan Hillsborough Lizzie and Bob! We look forward to the many contributions you will make and the learning experiences you will gain!
