Operation Partnership: Civilian Career Day 2019

September 2019 – We had the privilege of hosting Major Michael Chavarria, USAF, on August 16 for the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce’s Operation Partnership: Civilian Career Day. The program gives military members transitioning out of service the opportunity to spend a day with a Chamber member. Major Chavarria experienced a typical work day at Plan Hillsborough and was exposed to a wide variety of careers in the planning and related fields.

Major Chavarria has served over 23 years in the U.S. Air Force and is currently stationed at MacDill AFB in the Joint Communications Support Element as the Director of Logistics. His directorate manages the equipment used for the communication mission, organizational clothing and individual equipment, chemical protective equipment, weapons, and ammunition for the element. They also coordinate movement of personnel and cargo to conduct operations wherever they are needed.

Katie Lopez, the Military & Workforce Development Manager for the Chamber, thanked Plan Hillsborough for coordinating and “developing an impactful experience.” Plan Hillsborough thanks Major Chavarria for his dedicated service to our country and wishes him the best in his upcoming civilian career.
