The Coalition of Community Gardens – Tampa Bay is excited to feature a very special guest at its conference this year: Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried!
The virtual event will take place Saturday, July 24 at 9 a.m. Commissioner Fried will open the event as its keynote speaker. The itinerary also includes a panel discussion about community gardening successes, a presentation on the policy impacts of community gardening, and highlights from the Coalition’s Garden Steps initiative.
“The one-day conference is full of networking opportunities, educational programs, information gathering, and a wonderful way to emphasize the impact of community gardening on the health of the community,” Michele Ogilvie said who serves as the Garden Steps Chair.
The Coalition of Community Gardens – Tampa Bay is a network of community gardens and other allied entities formed to support community gardening, build infrastructure, share knowledge and resources, and advocate for related public policies in the West Central Florida area.
