Independent Oversight Committee set to meet on July 16

June 2019 – The Independent Oversight Committee (IOC) will have its long-awaited first meeting to discuss the transportation sales tax on July 16. The IOC was created to oversee spending of the one cent sales tax for transportation by approving plans and preparing an annual audit. The 13 members of the committee were appointed by governing bodies earlier in the year.

At the first meeting, the IOC will discuss bylaws, officers, and procedures for reviewing transportation plans from Hillsborough County, HART, and the cities of Tampa, Temple Terrace, and Plant City. All IOC meetings will be held in the Planning Commission Boardroom on the 18th floor of County Center and will be aired on HTV. The public is always welcome.
