Early in 2013, the Imagine 2040 Working Group was created to address the best way to address future growth. The working group includes interested volunteers from student, citizen, business, and development groups to work with the Planning Commission and MPO to develop big ideas, trends and forecasts to help create a vision for Hillsborough County illustrated through conceptual growth strategies. The strategies developed – Suburban Dream, New Corporate Centers, and Bustling Metro – ultimately were used for discussion purposes to get the public to weigh in on priorities and preferences for growth on the Imagine 2040 Survey completed in November 2013.
