Data Business Plan (2017)

slider_databusinessplanThe Hillsborough County MPO was selected to participate as one of three pilot sites for a Federal Highway Administration Mobility Data Business Planning Initiative. The FHWA Office of Operations and its consultant team are assisting the MPO in developing a data business plan to improve the management and governance of roadway travel mobility data. The final data business plan will be a living document that addresses the data needs of the MPO and more than 20 local partners.

The Plan will help stakeholders understand what mobility data is being collected; how the data support planning, operations, and performance measure activities; and, which agency is responsible for managing and updating the datasets. The result will be a framework for partner agencies to share roadway travel time and speed data for planning purposes.

The pilot study includes stakeholder outreach activities to collect feedback, inventory existing datasets, identify data needs and gaps, and development of an action plan to improve the management and governance of mobility data in the region.
