April 2022 – Congratulations to the TPO’s very own Dr. Johnny Wong! In recognition of his efforts, the Core Team of the Tampa Bay Smart Cities Alliance (TBSCA) has selected him for their Leadership Team.
Dr. Wong will collaborate with others in the group to move the region forward in deploying cutting-edge technologies that cut across multiple disciplines, including transportation, energy infrastructure, and health. Currently, Johnny serves as an Executive Planner for the TPO, managing the Transportation Improvement Program and overseeing the Citizens Advisory Committee and Data & Analytics Team.
The TBSCA was initiated by the City of Tampa (COT), Florida Department of Transportation District 7 (FDOT D7), and the Center for Urban Transportation Research at the University of South Florida (CUTR) in 2017. Their mission is to integrate innovation and deploy cutting edge technologies that improve mobility and enhance transportation safety.
