Bullard Parkway Complete Streets Study (2017)

slider_bullardparkwayThe Bullard Parkway Complete Streets Study was completed by the Hillsborough Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the City of Temple Terrace and was approved by the MPO Board on August 1, 2017. Complete Streets is an approach to planning and design which prioritizes safe access, and comfortable and convenient travel. For this reason, the approach is quickly gaining traction in transportation circles.

The purpose of the study was to identify and evaluate alternative options for better serving those who travel Bullard Parkway from 56th St to Morris Bridge Road. The study evaluated the existing conditions and recommended improvements to make the roadway safer and more comfortable for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists.

A public meeting related to this study was held at Lightfoot Senior Recreation Center, 10901 N. 56th St, Temple Terrace, FL, on March 8, 2017 from 5-7pm, and was well-attended.

A follow-up public meeting to the study was held at Temple Terrace City Hall in conjunction with the Temple Terrace City Council meeting on May 16, 2017 from 6-8pm. Temple Terrace City Hall is located at 11250 N. 56th St, Temple Terrace, FL. The draft recommendations received positive feedback from the Temple Terrace City Council and were presented to the MPO’s committees as an action item in June and July.
