Beth Alden is speaking at the TRB Conference in Atlanta

Our MPO Executive Director is hitting the road again. Beth is a panelist at the Transportation Research Board’s Performance & Data in Transportation Decision Making Conference in Atlanta, Georgia September 15 -18. She’ll be talking about using performance metrics like pavement condition, crash rates, travel time reliability, and bus service availability to engage people in building their own preferred budget for the long-range transportation plan. A strong majority of residents surveyed told us they weren’t satisfied with the performance outcomes and were willing to spend more to get better outcomes. This sentiment was reflected in the popular vote in November 2018 to approve a one-cent sales tax for transportation improvements in Hillsborough County.
