October 2022 – At the October Board Meetings, staff presented the APA Florida Award of Excellence for our FLiP Jr program Plan Hillsborough received at the Florida Planning Conference held in Orlando in September.
Representing our community partner, the Tampa Heights Junior Civic Association, THJCA Founder & Board Chair Lena Young Green and Executive Director Naya Young were invited to the October meetings to be recognized by the Planning Commission and Transportation Planning Organization.
Through this valuable partnership, the THJCA allows Plan Hillsborough into their summer camp programs to engage young students in urban planning through hands-on, age-appropriate activities in the heart of communities not typically represented in the planning process. #FLiPjr #inspiringfutureplanners #PlanningforEquity
