Commercial-Locational Criteria update for Hillsborough County gets underway

CLC bannerOctober 2021 – Over the next six months, the Planning Commission will be updating the Commercial-Locational Criteria within the Hillsborough County Comprehensive Plan. These Criteria are a set of requirements for new commercial development to ensure these facilities integrate harmoniously into our communities.

How can you participate?

  1. Visit our interactive ‘socialpinpoint’ online tool to provide input and help answer questions like ‘Would you prefer to walk or drive to your local corner store?’ and ‘Should apartments be permitted above your neighborhood coffee shop?’ at https://tinyurl.com/HillsboroughCLC, where you can take a brief online survey and post on the interactive community idea wall.
  2. Stakeholder interviews are ongoing through the end of October. We are requesting local stakeholders to attend a meeting to help us identify issues and opportunities related to the location of neighborhood-serving commercial uses in areas designated for residential use on the unincorporated Hillsborough County’s Future Land Use Map. If you would like to participate, please email papandrewa@plancom.org.
  3. You can also attend an upcoming virtual community meeting on November 1, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Visit the Plan Hillsborough Commercial-Locational Criteria project page to register or access the event on the evening of the event and for additional project information and updates at: https://archive.planhillsborough.org/commercial-locational-criteria-study/

We hope to hear from you soon!
