Jennifer Malone, AICP | Senior Planner | Started January 2016
Jennifer began her career working for the City of North Port, one of Florida’s numerous pre-platted communities developed by General Development Corporation in the 1950’s. Since starting at the Planning Commission, Jennifer has worked on the City of Tampa team within the Comprehensive Plan Policy Review Division. As a member of the City of Tampa team, Jennifer coordinates the Plan Amendment process and reviews proposed Plan Amendments and rezonings for consistency with the Comprehensive Plan. Along with her teammates, Jennifer meets with the City of Tampa Council members regularly to individually brief them on Plan Amendments and answer any questions before public hearings. Jennifer is also working towards updating the Plan Amendment Procedures Manual for the three municipalities, which is expected to be complete in 2020.
Outside of the office, Jennifer is the new Hillsborough Area Director for the American Planning Association Florida Sun Coast section. She is also an involved member of the Tampa Junior League, and has held leadership positions within the League since joining in Fall 2016. In the cooler months, she can be found enjoying the Riverwalk with her dog, Zoe.
