Plan Hillsborough’s Earth Day activities 2019

April 2019 – To promote and encourage sustainable and resilient practices within the agency and in the community, Plan Hillsborough has been participating in green initiatives like our Commuter Challenge and the Hillsborough County recycling program. In honor of Earth Day, the agency will have its first paperless Planning Commission meeting on April 8, with staff and Planning Commissioners embracing an entirely digital format.

On April 27, the agency will also participate in the Great American Cleanup sponsored by Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful. A team of Plan Hillsborough volunteers will spend their Saturday morning picking up trash along the trails, shoreline, and boat ramp at Riverhills Park in Temple Terrace. The cleanup is a call to action to create more sustainable communities by focusing on activities that impact individuals in need, provide aesthetic community improvements, and improve the environment.
